Scorchio!

Hot stuff at the pond now, even at 8:00 in the morning. The sun this week is going to send the water temp rocketing. As lovely as it is to have some sun, I'm sure there's a few winter swimmers who wouldn't say no to a cold snap!
Thanks to Gavin for help with the pics today (that's him waving hello in the second one down).

Open Country

Open Country on Radio 4 had a program about the ponds on yesterday. You can listen to it here and download it here if you want to listen on the move. Morning swimmers at the Men's Pond will recognise a familar voice straight away. The program starts at the Mixed Pond and then takes a tour round the Ladies (outside the gate obviously, since we have a male presenter), and then finishes up at the Men's Pond. Being a dedicated swimmer at the Men's I could have done with a bit more there, but it's still a very enjoyable listen.

On a completely unrelated subject, did anyone actually see any ladies at the pond today? I think the winter swimming ladies must be more committed.

Highgate Men's Pond Association, fame at last.

Yesterday morning we had Nigel Sutton from the Ham & High take some photos for a piece about the HMPA that should be in tomorrow's edition. Luckily it was a beautiful sunny morning, so there were plenty of us around, although some were a bit camera shy!

Rain again this morning.

But it's not so bad when you've got a swim in the pond to look forward to.

Yoga time!

This is what goes on during a sunny morning at the pond, not so much with the drizzle we've been having recently. I'm very impressed with that leg move by the way, some serious training is required if I'm going to be able to do that.
